INDEX is the largest and longest running design event in the Middle East and was launched at the beginning of Dubai’s design revolution in 1990. Now in its 25th year, no other event in the region can match the power INDEX has for generating business. In 2015 alone $2.9bn worth of business is expected to be generated as a result of the 4 day event.
As the home of design, INDEX provides companies from all over the world an outlet to reach the most influential buyers and decision makers from over 100 countries. The exhibition gives unparalleled opportunities for businesses, including the chance to launch their products in the Middle Eastern market or give further brand visibility to a buying audience which may have previously been out of reach.
In 2015, INDEX was host to 726 leading suppliers of some of the worlds most respected and recognised interiors brands, including: Mackenzie Childs, Natuzzi, Aati, Edition Bougainville and many more. This included 249 companies from countries such as Brazil, Japan and Czech Republic who chose INDEX as the event through which to introduce their business to the MENA market for the first time.
Dubai is swiftly gaining global recognition as the design capital of the Middle East and is home to some of the world’s most iconic architecture. Fast establishing itself alongside design cities such as London, Paris and New York, many global suppliers of interiors and furnishings are strategically coming to Dubai to capture new revenue opportunities for their businesses in the GCC. The emirate is now home to world renowned interior brand names including Fendi Casa, Ralph Lauren Home, Minotti, Ligne Roset, Arteriors, Oscar De La Renta Home, Didier Ludot, Assouline and Kravet. Dubai also hosts large retailers such as Bloomingdales, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel and Harvey Nichols to name but a few, and with retail malls still expanding, the opportunities for furniture and furnishing suppliers and buyers are almost endless. Add to this significant Government investment to the sector, the development of the Dubai Design District and the creation of the Dubai Design & Fashion Council - and it's no wonder all eyes are watching to see what wonders Dubai will produce next.
