Dubai Home Festival Energises the Market as Demand for Furniture and Interior Design Grows

Tens of thousands of new homes are approaching handover, and the sixth Dubai Home Festival turns the city's attention to the interiors that will give them character. Ebarza, one of its longest-standing participants, returns for a sixth year with generous offers and complimentary design consultations.

A house receives its keys on a single day, yet it becomes a home only gradually, through the light it gathers, and the objects chosen to live within it.

The sixth edition of the Dubai Home Festival runs from 16 October to 1 November 2026 and carries particular weight this year. Its arrival coincides with the sustained growth of the emirate's real estate sector and with the handover of a considerable number of new residential units. Together, these have stirred fresh demand for furniture and interior design as well as for finishing works. The festival also keeps its established role of stimulating commercial activity and encouraging competition and innovation. It does this by presenting the latest design trends alongside offers shaped around the needs of today's homeowners.

This year's programme brings together a varied mix of shopping experiences and events, with discounts and promotions complemented by special activities. Dubai's leading furniture and home furnishing stores are taking part. Among them is Ebarza, which joins the festival for the sixth consecutive year. Its showroom offers reductions of up to 75 per cent on a selected range of pieces, while designers from the Ebarza Interior Design Studio give visitors complimentary consultations.

Shifting Trends in Dubai’s Property Market

Maana Abu Daqqa, founder and chief executive of Ebarza, sees the festival's timing as aligned with a defining phase in Dubai's property market. Tens of thousands of residential units are expected to be handed over during 2026 and 2027. The opportunities this creates reach well past the furniture showroom, extending into finishing and lighting and into the growing field of smart home solutions. He also notes that consumers have grown far more attentive to material quality and architectural detailing. Lighting and smart technology now weigh heavily in their decisions too. This shift has encouraged companies to refine their products and propose ideas that go well beyond the traditional notion of selling furniture. In his view, this change is what makes the festival a genuine platform for new thinking in furniture and interior design.

The Turnkey Solutions Phenomenon

The order in which new owners approach their homes is revealing. According to Abu Daqqa, many of those receiving new properties turn first to the architecture of the interior. They commission wall treatments and bespoke joinery together with lighting schemes, and only afterwards consider furniture. ‘This has made integrated turnkey solutions, from design through furnishing and execution, a decisive factor in consumers' choices,’ he explains.

He regards the festival's importance as reaching beyond its commercial offers, since it strengthens consumer confidence and lends fresh energy to the sectors connected with housing. Ebarza has completed more than 550 interior design and furnishing projects across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In his words, its continued presence at the festival for a sixth year reflects the value of such initiatives in supporting the market as its needs evolve.

‘Every new residential unit handed over represents an economic opportunity for multiple sectors, from interior design and finishing to furniture and fittings,’ Abu Daqqa concludes. He expects this momentum to carry into the period ahead, driven by real estate growth and by customers' rising interest in fully designed living spaces where aesthetics and comfort meet quality of execution.

The Dubai Home Festival forms part of wider efforts to reinforce Dubai's standing as a leading regional destination for shopping and retail festivals, drawing visitors from across the UAE and further afield. Previous editions have paired shopping experiences and promotions with a varied programme of activities, and in doing so have secured the festival a firm place on the emirate's commercial calendar.
